One of America's touchiest subjects. But honestly, what is the big deal?
To start: I'm not writing this to start drama or step on any toes but it is a big issue that I personally have a lot of feelings about. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and if you don't agree, thats perfectly fine with me. Feel free to express any thoughts with respect to everyone.
Society as a whole frowns upon gay people, gay marriage, and gay rights because it is considered socially unacceptable. Couples walk around every part of this country, holding hands and kissing and just hanging out but as soon as it's two guys or two girls, it's wrong. Granted, PDA isn't really okay to begin with but whats the difference? Is it really bothering you? If it makes you uncomfortable, just walk away. There is no reason to make a big deal about it.
Now I love gay people. They are some of the funniest and most real people I have ever met. My best friend in the whole wide world is gay and actually dated another friend of mine and they are both male. They are no different then any other people other than the fact that they like people of the same gender instead of people of the opposite gender. Against popular debate, they are not diseased or weird. Yes they are different but does that really make them wrong?
One major debate is gay marriage. Personally, I see no problem with it. Everyone should be able to marry and spend the rest of their lives with the one that they love even if society frowns upon it. Nuff said.
I feel like people are people. Their personal interests are none of anyone else's concerns. They should have all the same rights and privileges.
