Did I miss the Memo?

Okay so I've seen a recent "trend" lately and I'm slightly confused by it...

Yes, I'm referring to hickeys. Was there some memo somewhere that said it was suddenly cool to go around with these nasty bruises on your neck?

Lately, I've seen tons of girls (And guys!) with hickeys that look a lot like the picture above (from google, not me) running around school. Is that okay? Like seriously?

I personally think it looks trashy and nasty. If you and your significant other want to go vampire on each other, cool, fine by me, doesn't bother me. However, clean up afterwards. You can easily get rid of these things with an ice pack or more creatively, a frozen spoon. Or just put make up or a hoodie on until it goes away. Super simple. So do it. Please. Spare us all.

My Black Friday Adventure

Soooooo I went Black Friday shopping this year much like most of America. It really is a ridiculous tradition but hey, it's fun. :)

My sister, Bri, my friend Kaylee, and I began our adventure at 7:30pm at Wal Mart in Mansfield. We got all our stuff as soon as we got there so we knew that we would have it all. Unfortunately, we couldn't check out til the sales officially started at midnight so we wandered around Wal Mart, went to the Subway in it, and just acted silly.

That was all at Subway. Annnnnnd here's our cart!

Then we were hanging out on a bench in the pharmacy section. Where we decided to do war paint. Cuz we're BA. :)

Soooo then we got to stand in line for 2 hours. Yes. 2 hours. But I promise. It was sooooooo worth it. All my Christmas shopping is pretty much done now! :)

The line...
Then we had a DELICIOUS breakfast/dinner at Denny's. It was 2am so I'm not sure which it was. Kaylee had breakfast and Bri and I had burgers soooo... After that, we hit the mall so Kaylee could get a hoodie for her boy from American Eagle. While there we got to hit Aeropostale and a shoe store where I got some shoes that resemble these! :)

Annnd that finished our trip. :) We arrived home at 5am and slept til 1:30pm friday. It was well worth it.

Got your own Black Friday stories? Feel free to comment! :)

Happy Thanksgiving!!

The day of the year dedicated to eating a ton of turkey and such and being with friends and family. Oh and later all the Black Friday shopping. ;) I hope everyone is thinking about the things they are thankful for. So I would just like to share what I'm thankful for today and everyday:

1. God- He has been so gracious and loving and done so much for me and I'm just so thankful.
2. My family- As much as they drive me crazy, I still love them and everything they've done for me.
3. My friends- We've fought and had our rough spots but I would be nowhere without them and I'm so glad I have them in my life.
4. My dogs- My best friends ever who've been there for me through everything. Even if they don't understand what I'm saying. :)
5. My job- As awful as it can be, it pays the bills and my coworkers are pretty cool.
6. My country- It's such a great place to live and grow up. Land of the Free and Home of the Brave<3
7. My school- As annoying as it's been, it is the place I've learned the most and it'll eventually give me my diploma.
8. My musical abilities- (For Mr. Sloan) I'm glad God has blessed me with the ability to play an instrument and sing
9. My crazy, beautiful life in general- With all of it's ups and downs, disasters, parties, laughs, tears, ect. I love it all. (:

What're you thankful for today?

MochaLatta Chill

Have you ever been in the mall and been thirsty but not really know what you want? Let me make a suggestion.
MochaLatta Chill from Cinnabon

It's amazingly delicious. I love it because it only has a bit of the coffee taste but its still there. Also it's mostly chocolate. Which is great. Plus, I like the fact that it's iced because shopping can really wear you out. ;)

So if you ever get the chance, try it out. If you don't like it, fine. If you do, you're welcome. :) I'm just here to help you broaden your horizons... or something. :)

Holiday Tips

Okay so the holidays have arrived! Seeing how Thanksgiving is in a couple days I figured I would do a pre-holiday post to help out those of you that have to go through multiple family events or just need some tips on surviving this crazy time of year.
  • (From Haley): Don't kill anyone- Family members, boyfriends/girlfriends of family member, the family dog, ect. Resist the urge to shank them with a fork. No good will come of it. (This is a joke. I know none of my readers would ever consider doing this [; )
  • Avoid negative people- They are just going to irritate you and bring you down too so just stay out of it in general.
  • Make an effort to see family members you haven't seen in a while- Makes them happy, makes you happy. All is good.
  • Don't text the whole time you're at an event- Its rude and you're gonna hurt some feelings
  • Take your IPod, MP3 player, ect.- Don't spend the whole time on it or with it in your ears but if there is some down time and you want to drown out the sound of your little cousins screaming, it'll come in handy.
  • Get out- Go somewhere. It doesn't have to be fancy but just do something. You're out of school, make it count.
  • **Be thankful- We are all very blessed and I don't want anyone to take it for granted.**
There's just a few tips that I hope will help some of you out this year. Enjoy! :)

Saturday Night Adventures

Alrighty so heres another one of my Saturday night adventures I'd like to share with all of you.

This week, after having a terrible day yesterday, decided to take a spontaneous trip to Ohio Northern University in Ada to see my best friend. :)

First of all, amazingly, I made it to the correct parking lot without getting lost or having to call someone. Which, for those of you that know that I'm the most directionally challenged person ever, will know that this is a miracle in itself.

I get to her room and we all chill and Facebook creep and such while her roommate dances around the room naked, getting ready to go out. She leaves around 9:30 and two of my friend's guy friends come up and join us in playing Catch Phrase (which is easily one of the most fun games everrrrrr) until like 1am when they left. About the same time her roommate comes stumbling in, completely drunk, wanting Taco Bell. Yes. Taco Bell.

And so, at 1 in the morning, we pile in my car and go to Taco Bell (which was delicious and well worth it). We get back to the room and her roommate is just being random and hilarious. Me and my bestiee had to make her bed for her though... which was strange... but it happened.

Silly roommate eating her Crunchwrap and rolling around laughing.

Around 2:30am we finally laid down and slept. Well until at 3am this strobe light and ear piercing ringing is going off. I'm laying on the floor of her dorm covering my ears and trying to ignore it until her roommate nearly steps on me. Thats about the time I realized we had to leave. So I managed to grab my jacket but there was no way I was going to get my Converse on quickly in the dark so I left them and we went down the 2 or 3 flights of steps and went outside. For the record, it was freaking freezing outside and raining and I was bare foot on the cold, wet pavement while wearing her roommate's boyfriend's shorts she lent me. It was ridiculous.

Turns out it was the fire alarm and everyone had to get out while they put out whatever fire was going on. I don't know the details but we stood out there for a good half hour or so before they finally turned the alarm off. So we went back to bed around 4:30am this morning. Then I was up at 6 to drive back home so I could be at work by 9am. It was pretty much crazy. But awesome.

So that was my Saturday Night Adventure. :)

Breaking Dawn!

Yes. I am writing a post at 2:30am on a school night. Yes. I did just see the Breaking Dawn: Part 1 midnight premiere. Yes. I am going to tell you about it.

Any more questions?
'kay cool.

So already you can tell that this post is going to be even more obnoxious than my others. Well yes. That's generally what happens when you keep Courtney up til 2:30am after school and work. OH and on top of that I get to stay up and do all my homework that's due in like 5 and a half hours! :D Yayyyy. Only not.

ANYWAYS! On to the post:

Soo Breaking Dawn was pretty much amazingly amazing! I looooooooved it. I'm slightly an overly obsessed Twilight freak. Only slightly though. Key points for me:

  • Question... How is that movie PG?? Between the multiple heated sex scenes and the gory birth scene, there is no way. My 11 year old sister saw it and freaked out. Point proven.
  • Followed the books really well except for a few added scenes. Otherwise it was great!
  • Slightly corny in the Alpha wolf switchy part. Kinda like a bad PowerRangers movie bad.
  • AMAZING job portraying the birth and pregnancy. It was super realisticish (about as realistic as you can get with a vampire pregnancy...)
  • Kristen Stewart is still a terrible actress with no emotion
  • Robert Pattinson is still hot along with most of the other males in that movie
  • I HIGHLY recommend you go see it.
That is all. Good night Readers! :)

Current Addictions

So here's a little list of my current favs in life :)

1. Online Shopping- Seriously... It's a problem. As soon as I get my paychecks, they are gone. But hey, I have a ton of new stuff on the way that makes me smile. I'll share all of that in a later post though. :)

2. Mocha Frappes- Another major addiction. They are just so delicious! Seriously, go try one. You'll be addicted too. Even my old English teacher loves them.

3. Adele- Ummmm how can you not love her?! She's gorgeous and an amazing singer. Double threat yo.

4. Wii Fit Pro- Okay so I'm not a winter sport person and I would rather not gain a million pounds so this is my solution! It's super fun and it really works without you even realizing it. I have it all set up in my room and it only takes an hour tops a night. This system is great and I highly recommend it.

5. Fringe Moccasins- Just got a pair the other day and I love them. Like tons and tons<3

6. Cross Body Bags- Again, just bought mine and I love it! Pics coming in later post. :)

7. Columbia/North face Jackets- I hate winter coats but I love these jackets because they are really warm but not too warm and you can wear them during school and still look good.

8. iOS 5 Update- Got an apple product? Have you tried the new stuff? It's amazing. 200 new features or something crazy. I love, love, love it. Thank you Steve Jobs<3 RIP

There you have it. Feel free to comment. :)

Piercing advice?

For those of you who don't know, I currently have my firsts and seconds in my ears and my nose pierced.
I love my nose piercing a lot. And anyone curious, yes it did hurt. When some scary guy shoves a needle through your nose it tends to hurt. It wasn't terrible though and it was only sore for a week or two and I haven't had any problems with it since  (minus having to take it in and out for work).

I happen to love piercings quite a bit. Only certain kinds though.

Lip Ring- On certain people (if it's not a really freaky ring and you aren't playing with it all the time) it looks cute but I would never get it done just for the fact that its unprofessional to some people.

"Monroe" Ring- Ew. I have met like two people ever that can pull it off. Otherwise it looks beyond stupid and nasty. I personally would never even think to get it done.

Tongue Rings- Creep me out like no other thanks to my childhood babysitter. I absolutely hate when people who have them sit there and play with them. It's so gross. I admit some people can pull it off but it always creeps me out...
Eyebrow Ring- Another one that I think looks super cute on some people but I would never get it done cuz of professional look.

So here's my dilemma and what I need advice with....
I want to get my tragus pierced because:
  • It's freaking adorable
  • I heard its painless
  • Can be covered
  • and did I mention adorable?
So should I get it done or not?
Feel free to email me at if you have any insight or comment below. Thanks!

Jenna Marbles Review

So on our trip to Olive Garden Brianna was literally quoting a whole Jenna Marbles video and I had heard the name but never bothered to look into it until after that. So if you don't know Jenna Marbles, here's the briefing:
  • Some chick somewhere who uploads videos of herself talking and acting strange
  • Super hilarious
  • Extremely inappropriate (cussing every other word and sexual innuendoes everywhere)
  • Has some interesting points and views
Basically, I like her. I love a good laugh and she is hilarious in a stupid way. But if you don't want to here the f-bomb more than 5 times in one video, these are not the videos for you.

Here are a couple that I enjoyed. Feel free to post comments and opinions below!:

Saturday Night Adventure

So Brianna, Markus, and I took a little trip to Ft. Wayne saturday night so we could get Olive Garden. :)

Now I loooooooooooove Olive Garden. So much. It's so delicious and Italian (which is also very delicious. haha). But anyways, if you don't know what Olive Garden is, you're unAmerican... which is only acceptable if you're Italian in this case... no JUST KIDDING! But seriously... clear your schedule and go try it. Immediately.

Here's a bit of our trip:

I had spaghetti. It was amazing. Just so you know. :)

Uhh... this is Bri... and some delicious raspberry lemonade.

Yeah, okay, so they stab lemons with these and put them in your drinks...

Black Tie Mousse Cake
Easily the best cake you will ever have. Ever.

Sooo it was a pretty great trip. :)

Happy Veteran's Day!

Sooo I'd just like to make a post dedicated to all of the Veteran's out there that put their lives on the line for us.

I, like many other families in this country, have an uncle in the war. I can remember watching the news and seeing everything going on overseas the past few years and just praying that he wasn't hurt or killed in the hundreds of bombings and attacks. Everyday I knew he was out there in danger while his family was here in America just hoping that one day he would return home. But unfortunately, like many people know, nothing was ever for certain. One day he could be fine and the next he could be gone. But he was there for a reason. He was putting his life on the line for us. For this great country.

Today, most American's take it for granted that we have the freedom to go to school and work and speak our minds. I personally appreciate the freedom of speech because that gives me the right to share my thoughts and opinions on this blog without being charged with treason or whatnot. I think we tend to forget that freedom comes with a price tag. We don't just get it. A lot of people had to die for it and some still are. Today of all days, we remember them.

Everyday soldiers are out in Afganistan, Iraq, Iran, and wherever else, fighting for this great country and for what we stand for. We honor you.

Veteran's from WW1, Vietnam, WW2, ect, all put their lives on the line, their safety in jeopardy for us to be free and safe. Without them, this country would be nothing like it is. We are so fortunate and I hope that on today at least, we can all take a chance to pray for those we've lost and the ones who are fighting now and even the ones that will fight for us and their families that have to also pay a price. These people spend months or years away from their homes and families to make sure that we can have a home and family. It's not fair but someone has to do it and I think that we all need to realize it.

More and more people are choosing to go into the armed forces after high school and I feel like we should respect those people as well. They know what they are going into. They know the risks. Yet they are still willing to serve for us. We respect you.

Thank God for all the Veterans from the past, present, and future. Today we honor you and keep you in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers. If you see a Veteran or know of one, thank them.

Thank you.

Side note: <start rant>
To you unappreciative, spoiled brats who couldn't even be bothered to stay awake through the assembly yesterday, you disgust me. Seriously. How hard is it to pay attention for an hour. These people spend MONTHS even YEARS, fighting for your sorry butts and you can't even have the decency to honor them. I think it's so rude and wrong. You should be shipped to Iraq so you can understand what they are going through and maybe you'll start to show a little appreciation and gratitude. <end rant>

Check out these songs too!
